Belgium - Mechelen - Security Test Engineer

Summary

VASCO Data Security is looking for a ‘Security Test Engineer’ to join its R&D department in Mechelen.
The ‘Security Test Engineer’ will be part of the Quality Assurance/Quality Control team,is actively involved in the development lifecycle of VASCO’s product line and helps VASCO to deliver high quality. This includes the setup and integration of security tests within the existing test automation frameworkin addition to the typical testing tasks.

Testing activities will be performed on the following VASCO products:

• aXsGUARD Gatekeeper
• aXsGUARD IDENTIKEY Appliance
• DIGIPASS as a Service

Responsibilities

The ‘Security Test Engineer’ works closely together with other QA/QC members and other R&D staff in various capacities. 

The security testing tasks include:

• Setup and maintain a system for automated security tests that can be integrated within the existing test automation framework
• Extend existing test regression suite with security-related test cases
• Assist and coach other team members in security testing

 The typical testing tasks include:

• Execution of test plans in an efficient manner to ensure a quality product is delivered
• Design test cases for VASCO products
• Execute test cases for VASCO products
• Perform security tests on VASCO products
• Perform routine tests on product installations/migration/upgrades
• Common product setups, typical architectures and configuration alternatives
• System and User Acceptance Testing with a focus on functional and non-functional pass-fail tests, mimicking real life deployments
• If required, work with developers to troubleshoot software or reproduce issues
• Report and analyze test results, log all issues or anomalies during test activities. Raise defects in the bug reporting system. Raise and follow-up defects
• Successful verification of resolved issues raised in bug tracking system
• Maintain testing environment
• Actively participate in user documentation reviews to find and resolve issues

Profile

• Bachelor or Master in Computer Science, ICT or Industrial Engineering or equivalent by experience
• Experience in security testing, test case analysis and design
• Experience with test case management & defect tracking systems (TestLink & Redmine) and experience with test automation (Ruby) are an asset
• Technical skills:
  - Professional knowledge of Microsoft Windows & Linux
  - Professional knowledge of TCP/IP networking (such as Ethernet, routing and packet filtering) and Protocols
    Analyzer Tools
  -Professional knowledge of Internet Technologies (HTTP, HTML, SSL, S-MIME, SOAP, REST, etc)
  -Professional knowledge of network security aspects (such as VPN, Proxy, Firewall, etc) is an asset
• Fluent knowledge of Dutch and English
• You are accurate, quality minded and detail-oriented
• You are a quick learner who is able to adapt to new processes and concepts
• You have an investigative nature and strong troubleshooting skills
