University of Groningen - VASCO Data Security is Top of the Class

To keep tabs on how the 20,000 students and 5,000 employees of the University of Groningen access the university's data from their homes, VASCO's DIGIPASS/VACMAN solution was rolled out. This enables the university's computer system to check the identity of the user (authentication), allow access to the system (authorization) and create reports on how the system is used (accounting).

Objective

Students and employees need remote access to the university's network, but data must be kept safe and this without spending too much money.

Challenge

Find a solution to control access to the university's information systems, which can be used with the existing infrastructure and can be expanded in the future.

Solution

With the help of Dutch data communications company Q&I Networks, the university chose the Digipass/ VACMAN solution developed by VASCO Data Security. By using the applications developed by one of the many VASCO partners, a new way for personalised access to the university’s Internet, Intranet and Extranet is now possible.
