What does DIGIPASS do?
A DIGIPASS is a token solution. It generates One-Time Passwords upon your request. Either by entering a PIN code or by simply pressing a button on the token.
Enter this password into the passwordfield of your login screen.
The software on the server verifies the password to authenticate your identity. Only when those data correspond, access will be granted.
DIGIPASS with or without PIN-protection
VASCO has DIGIPASS'es with or without PIN-protection. DIGIPASS'es without PIN-codes have no numeric keypad. DIGIPASS'es with PIN-protection all do. You enter your PIN-code on the DIGIPASS itself. Therefore, your PIN-information cannot be exposed over the computer network. Clever, not?
An internal real-time clock allows for Time based passwords
The DIGIPASS tokens use - among others - the real time as an algorithm to protect your information.
Every 36 seconds a new password will be generated. Maximum security guaranteed.
The software on the server works with a time window to verify the DIGIPASS Password.
This software can be easily integrated into any platform, on any operating system in any (legacy) software.
No time and no batch processing for fraudsters
Because DIGIPASS' passwords are time based, fraudsters are forced to operate in (almost) real time. This severly reduces the time to act. The fraudster has to be present the exact moment the combination 'username/password' is revealed. And he must use them right now. Otherwise the password expires.
Batch processing of username and password-combinations is no longer possible. The passwords can only be used once and within a limited timespan.
