EMV stands for Europay, MasterCard and VISA. These three leading card associations defined a common payment scheme using a chip card. The goal was - and still is - to combat all kinds of fraudulent uses of their debit- and credit cards.

This application requires a PIN for authentication for secure and fraud free payments.
EMV is designed to help reduce or eliminate credit card frauds like phishing, skimming and counterfeiting.

With your EMV Smart Card, you can authenticate yourself through different channels:

How does EMV work?

EMV Authentication uses your standard EMV card with an unconnected smart card reader.

Insert the smart into the Digipass Smartcard Reader
Enter your 4-digit PIN code
The reader gives you a one-time passcode.
This code can be used to authenticate yourselve onto the required application. It can also be used for authentication of an online payment transaction.
