KB 100019: Error when starting VASCO ADU&C extension: The Interface library was not loaded.12/18/2006 10:39:27 AM
After installing the VASCO Active Directory Users and Computers (ADU&C) extension, when starting the ADU&C you receive the error message: The interface Library was not loaded.
After installing the VASCO Users and Computers extension you receive the following error message when starting the ADUC:
“The interface library was not loaded. The operating system cannot run % 1"
After pressing the OK-button ADUC starts, but no Digipass tabs are displayed.
If an older version of the OpenSSL libraries is already installed on the machine (for example if the machine is a Windows 2000 Terminal Server or an XP workstation) you will get this error message.
This can be checked by looking for the libeay32.dll and the ssleay32.dll files on your machine. If there is an older version in the %PATH% of you machine these files will be used instead of the newly installed files in the c:\program files\Vasco\... folder
Copy the libeay32.dll and ssleay32.dll files from the c:\program files\Vasco\...\bin directory to the folder where you found the older DDL files. Most probably, if you will find older versions of these DLLs, it will be in the c:\windows\system32 folder.
Upgrades of the DLL’s should not be a problem since they are backwards compatible. However make sure to keep a backup copy of the existing DLL files in case any issues should arise.
