KB_170046: IDENTIKEY Authentication Server service fails to start when setting the server in migration mode.9/12/2017 5:40:01 PM
A customer had put his IDENTIKEY Authentication Server (IAS) 3.11 in migration mode, in order to use the Data Migration Tool (DMT) to migrate the data from one server to another server. After putting the server in migration mode the IAS service failed to start.
As described in the Data Migration Tool (DMT) administrator guide, the IAS has to be put in Migration Mode to allow the Data Migration from 1 IAS to another IAS using the DMT.
In the case described above, it appeared that the data of the customer was not migrated completely yet after a previous upgrade, so a part of the data was still on IAS version 3.10.
This can be checked by logging in to the IAS webadmin and check under the “Servers” tab if there is a “Migrate Data” task.
If this is the case, please run the migration task. After starting the Migration Data task, it should be visible in Servers => Task Management. Here you can follow the progress of the task. Once completed, the task will disappear from both, “Servers -> Task Management” and from the list under Servers Tab.
When the Migrated Data task has been completed, you should be able to put the server in migration mode and migrate the data to another server.
