KB_160117: How to change the IP address of the IDENTIKEY (Virtual) Appliance5/15/2017 11:59:05 AM
There are times when you might need to change the IP address of an IDENTIKEY (Virtual) Appliance.
This KB article outlines two different methods of accomplishing this: one via the IDENTIKEY Appliance Configuration GUI, and the other via direct access to the Rescue tool of the IDENTIKEY Appliance itself.
There are two main ways of changing the IP of an IDENTIKEY (Virtual) Appliance. The easiest way to go about doing this is via the GUI. You can access the Appliance Configuration by pointing your browser to the current IP address of the Appliance.
Another way of changing the IP is through console access to the Rescue Tool. (see the IDENTIKEY Appliance installation and maintenance guide for details on how to access the Rescue Tool)
This is useful in case you don’t know what the IP is currently set to and are unable to access the IDENTIKEY Appliance Configuration page.
Changing the IP using the GUI
First, point your browser to the IP address of the IDENTIKEY (Virtual) Appliance, and click on Appliance Configuration:
Log in using the sysadmin account. A global IAS administrator account can also be used here.
Once you’ve successfully logged on, navigate to Settings → Network.
Then, set the IP accordingly:
Note: you can assign multiple IP addresses to a single IDENTIKEY (Virtual) Appliance.
Changing the IP using the Rescue Tool
Once you’ve gained direct access to the Appliance itself, you will have to log in using the sysadmin account and press “n” to view/edit the network configuration.
Alternatively, you can log in with “rescue” if you don’t know the current password for the sysadmin account.
